Thayer Bobcats Versus Caruthersville Tigers Game Preview

The Thayer Bobcats are going up against the Caruthersville Tigers at the Thayer High School football field on Friday, November 6, 2020, at 7:00 p.m., in the District Tournament Semifinals. Here is a preview of the game.

Tigers Preview

The Tigers have a 3-4 record. They are also 0-2 in their district games, and they rank sixth in their district. [1]

 Forfeit and Canceled Games

Caruthersville’s last opponent, the Portageville Bulldogs, forfeited the quarterfinals game. The forfeit let the Tigers move on to the semifinals. Three of the Tigers’ planned games, the ones against the Kennett Indians, the New Madrid County Central Eagles, and the Dexter Bearcats, was canceled during the season. [2]

Point Margin In Games

The Tigers had two close games; one was a loss, and one was a win. The other win and losses were one or more touchdowns apart.

Bobcats Preview

The Bobcats have a 9-1 record, with their one loss being to the Hayti Indians in their season opener. The Bobcats are 5-0 in their district games and are rated first in their district. [3]

Not So Close Games

In the games the Bobcats played in, only one of the games were close, and that game was against the Hayti Indians. In most of the games, the Bobcats defense held their opponent to six or fewer points. [4] Only three games were an exception.

Win In Quarterfinals

Thayer’s last opponent was the Crystal City Hornets; the Bobcats won 46-6. The Bobcats did well in the quarterfinals, but a weak point was their extra-point kicks. [5]

District Finals

If the Bobcats win this next game, they will be going up against either the Hayti Indians (10-0) or the St. Vincent Indians (7-2) in the District Tournament Finals. [6]
