Solar Eclipse Workshops Underway In Missouri And NY

Solar eclipse

A total solar eclipse will be experienced by several states for the last time in their lifetimes. Thousands are expected to attend. Two states are planning workshops in preparation for this event. The following information is provided.

Rochester, New York

The Rochester, New York workshop is already taking registrations. The fee is $150.00. The event is planned for October 21-22, 2022. It will have in-person and virtual audiences. One of the main topics includes marketing the event to your community. To attend this event, one must be up to date on the COVID vaccinations and boosters. One need not live in Rochester to attend as the Rochester Museum & Science Center has booked discount rates at local hotels for your convenience.

Cape Girardeau, Missouri

Meanwhile, halfway across the country, an eclipse workshop is in the planning stages for Cape Girardeau. The Missouri Task Force is reserving the dates for the expo. This will be a one-day event on July 22, 2023. They are gathering vendors as well as speakers. The Eclipse Task Force is seeking vendors; it is finishing a website; and finally, it is creating a free media kit and logo for communities. Missouri is acquiring photos from the 2017 Eclipse Expo. If you have photos of that past event, please email Debra Ross at deb@kidsoutandabout.com. As more details become available, AltonMo.com will let you know.

As the date of the eclipse draws nearer, more states will join in eclipse workshops and task forces. It is good to be in a state that is leading the way and planning ahead.
