Alton, Mo. – The YES on Amendment 3 Rally Tour will make its Oregon County stop in Alton on Tuesday, October 20, at 2:00 p.m. at the Alton City Pool Pavilion, 100 Tucker Creek Rd., Alton, Missouri.
The Alton rally is part of a two-day, 10-county tour across Southeast Missouri bringing the YES on Amendment 3 message directly to voters and highlighting what supporters say is at stake in the November election.
Speakers
Susan Klein, Director of Missouri Right to Life, will serve as the featured speaker. She will be joined by State Representative Hardy Billington, who is serving as Master of Ceremonies throughout the 10-county tour, and Missouri State Treasurer Vivek Malek. Billington said his support for Amendment 3 is deeply personal.
Because this isn’t politics to me. It’s my family. Before I was born, my mother had an abortion, and
I’m here today because God led her to choose life with me. I often think about my brother or sister in
heaven, and I feel a duty to speak for them. That’s why I’m asking Missourians to vote Yes on
Amendment 3.
— State Representative Hardy Billington
Missouri’s official ballot title says Amendment 3 would repeal the reproductive-health-care amendment approved by voters in 2024; allow abortions in specified circumstances involving rape and incest under 12 weeks, emergencies and fetal anomalies; allow legislation regulating abortion; require parental consent for
minors’ abortions; and prohibit gender-transition procedures for minors.
State Treasurer
Malek said he appreciates the opportunity to take part in the Southeast Missouri tour.
I’m grateful for the opportunity to join Missourians across Southeast Missouri and be part of this
important conversation. When citizens come together, listen to one another and stay engaged on
issues that shape our state, that strengthens our communities and our democracy. I appreciate
everyone who is taking the time to participate and make their voice heard.
— Missouri State Treasurer Vivek Malek
Billington said the tour is intended to take the message directly to communities throughout Southeast Missouri.
The people of Southeast Missouri deserve to hear directly from those of us who are fighting for life
and understand what is at stake in this election. We don’t need to outspend the opposition. We need
to show up, talk to our neighbors and turn out the vote.
— State Representative Hardy Billington
The Alton event is hosted by the Oregon County Republican Central Committee, Patrick Ledgerwood, Chairman, and sponsored by the 25th Senatorial District Republican Committee, Reid Forrester, Chairman.
