The Chamber of Commerce agreed that it would be nice to have it looking presentable before the Independence Day festivities

It is official, and the preparations for the Community Potluck are underway! Alton is hosting a community-wide potluck.

Several cities have spring cleanups. Koshkonong has announced its dates, along with what can and cannot be hauled away.

Chuck Norris, the 86-year-old actor and martial arts icon, has passed away. He had recently celebrated his 86th birthday.

The Alton Culture Club is seeking sponsors for this event. A sponsor can be a business or an individual who wants to sponsor any age group.

One new event being planned this year is the Miss Oregon County Patriotic Pageant. This one focuses on character and personality.

Alton is planning various events. One idea suggested on the America 250 website was to host a community-wide potluck!

Another year is rolling by, and with it, it is time for the annual Alton class reunion. The reunion will be May 23, 2026.

The goal of the meeting was to plan a celebration of our nation’s birthday.and ongoing patriotic celebrations throughout the year.

This is an open discussion meeting about Alton, Oregon County, and Missouri history. The story of American liberty is also a local story.

This year, the Culture Club, working with the Chamber, is adding a few events. They are planning to host vendors around the square.

Elvin Richardson Bridges, age 99 of Alton, MO, was born October 18, 1925, and passed away on October 13, 2025.
