Halloween is coming up on October 31, 2026. The Alton Chamber of Commerce is planning a fun night on Halloween including a trunk-or-treat, costume contest, and inflatable costume race!
Event
The Halloween festivities will be from 5-7 pm on October 31st on the square. The square will be blocked off from S&S Fabric to the light pole by the Missouri Farm Bureau.
Trunk-or-Treat
Any business, church, or individual can come, set up, and hand out candy. There is no fee to set up. There is also no need to RSVP in advance. Starting off the festivities will be the costume contest and inflatable costume race.
Costume Contest
There will be family and an individual costume contest. For the family category, first-, and second-place prizes will be awarded: $75 gift certificate to Court Square Cafe, and $50 gift certificate to Jason’s Mexican Restaurant, respectively. For the individual category, there will be at least three prizes given out with each prize being a $15 gift certificate to the Local Chapter Coffee House.
Inflatable Costume Race
A favorite of last year’s trunk-or-treat was the inflatable costume race. The race is coming back this year. There will be four age categories: 5 and under, 6-10, 11-17, and 18 and older. Twenty dollars will be given to the winners.
Make sure to come out, have a good time, and participate in the contest and race!
