Alton, Mo. – This year’s Walnut Festival activities began Friday night with the Tom Clary Classic Car Cruise-In on the square in Alton, Missouri. Despite record-breaking temperatures earlier in the week, rain came, bringing much relief. And despite misty wetness falling Friday night, a good turnout of owners and admirers of classic cars filled the square in Alton.

Date and Location
The cruise-in was on Friday, October 2, 2026, on the square in Alton. The cruise-in was scheduled to begin at 4:30, but was postponed an hour due to rain. It would continue until 6:30. Nonetheless, vehicle owners were filling the square before 5:30.

Vehicles
Such a variety of vehicles adorned the square. Old working trucks, from the turn of the last century to newer ones with racing engines, showcased their beauty. Plus, the owners were not silent, talking about their ‘beauty’.

This was a fine ‘Thank-You’ to Tom Clary for his impact on the community.

Attendance
Although there was no music or food, people wanted to see vehicles that are appreciated through the years.
