Alton, Mo. – In honor of America’s 250th birthday, communities around this state are hosting patriotic events. One new event being planned this year is the Miss Oregon County Patriotic Pageant. Unlike beauty pageants, this one focuses on character and personality. It is open to all girls in Oregon County, Missouri.
Who Can Enter?
This is open to all girls in Oregon County. There will be four age-based judging brackets: ages 5-7, 8-11, 12-15, and 16-18.
Will There Be A Prize?
Absolutely! The first-place winner of each group will receive $200. The runner-up will receive $50.
Participants Facts
Each entry will wear the pageant shirt. She must attend some of the community events (in Oregon County) throughout the year, representing Miss Oregon County. She will be asked questions by a judge. These will be age-appropriate, but based on Oregon County or our nation’s birthday.
This is Not a beauty contest. No formal pageant dresses are to be worn. They are looking for age-appropriate spring dresses and patriotic outfits.
Each participant will be interviewed privately, judged on preparation and posture, and assessed for being in the event. They will be judged on their stage presence, too. Can they speak in front of others? Do they carry themselves confidently?
When Are The Deadlines?
The applications are due back by May 1. The pageant will be Saturday, June 20, 202,6 at 5:00 pm.
Where Will This Be Held?
The pageant will be hosted at the Alton High School Gymnasium. The judges’ interviews will be at the school, too.

The applications are available at S&S Fabric on the square in Alton. There is a small $5 fee for entering.
