Alton, Mo. – It’s been a hot summer in Alton, Missouri and many customers have enjoyed the pool. The swimming pool opens once school lets out for the summer. With another school year fast approaching, the pool will officially close for the year on August 11, 2019.
With the West Plains Missouri, public pool closed throughout 2019 due to algae in the water; the Alton public pool has had lots of business over the summer. Long, hot, sunny days have encouraged young and old alike to pay $3 to dip into the fresh water.
Unfortunately, although it may still be hot outside- with no sign of letting up anytime soon- the pool will be closing at the end of this week.
On August 11, Sunday, the pool will be open for the last time until next year. Alton school will begin on Thursday, August 15.
Luckily, even though the pool will be closed, you can still experience cool water by visiting the Eleven Point River, which is located just outside of town.
