Farmers Market Day-Bright, Sunny, Perfect

Alton, Mo. – Saturday, August 29, 2020, dawned bright and clear with a slight breeze to keep the bugs away. Although stormy weather was in the forecast for that evening, there was no indication of it at Tucker Creek Park in Alton, MO. Farmer’s came early to set up their booths and prepare themselves for the shoppers soon to come their way at the local Alton Farmer’s Market.

Spacious parking was once more an amenity as vehicles parked in parking lots and along the grass as needed.

What Was For Sale?

The booths offered a variety of items this Saturday. Some booths sold fresh produce like peppers, beans, squash, corn, and tomatoes. Other booths sold honey and farm-fresh eggs. Homemade baskets as well as custom embroidered towels were displayed for all to view. Farmer’s Market tee shirts were sold.  Frozen chickens and home-baked treats rounded out the booths. Wes Conrad had a booth and was giving a demonstration on how to make a birdhouse from gourds.
