President Trump Announces March For Life Statement

President Trump will speak at the 2020 March for Life in person according to Jeanne Mancini, President of March for Life in a statement issued January 22, 2020. The 47th annual March for Life is scheduled to take place on January 24th, 2020. [1]

History Shows That All Presidents Since ’74 March Declined To Appear

Mancini pointed out President Trump “…will be the first president in history to attend” and that, “we are so excited for him to experience in person how passionate our marchers are about life and protecting the unborn.”

He will be the first president in history to attend and we are so excited for him to experience in person how passionate our marchers are about life and protecting the unborn. From the appointment of pro-life judges and federal workers, to cutting taxpayer funding for abortions here and abroad, to calling for an end to late-term abortions [2]

Mancini also pointed out some of Trump’s accomplishments in the fight for life in the United States, “from the appointment of pro-life judges and federal workers, to cutting taxpayer funding for abortions here and abroad, to calling for an end to late-term abortions.”

“President Trump and his Administration have been consistent champions for life and their support for the March for Life has been unwavering. We are grateful for all these pro-life accomplishments and look forward to gaining more victories for life in the future,” noted Mancini.

Pro-Death Advocates Say President’s Stance Political

Opponents of the March for Life characterizes the President speaking in such a high profile yet divisive event in political terms. They assert the appearance as an election stunt as opposed to a moral and Constitutional stance the President is making.

CBS news observing that, “Mr. Trump has in the past called himself “very pro-choice,” but since becoming president has identified as “pro-life” and pushed policies that support efforts to limit abortion.” [3]
