Alton, Mo. – The Alton Comets varsity baseball team secured another home win on Tuesday, September 30, 2026. Coming into the game with a 15-1 record, they sailed past the Gainesville Bulldogs, who were 10-3.

Beginnings
It was a tight game. By the third inning, the game was tied 2-2. At that point, either team could take the win.

However, the Comets gained momentum in the third inning, scoring 8 runs! The Bulldogs scored none. Although a Comet was injured, the team played their best, knowing number 99 (Kanaan Clary) was missing. The Comets also hit a home run when the bases were loaded. At this point, the score was 11-2.

Comets’ Jarren Holesapple (0) has a fast hand on the mound. For the fourth and fifth innings, the Bulldogs did not get any men on base. The Comets did score one final time.
