Thayer Bobcats Win In Homecoming Game Against The Mountain Grove Panthers

Thayer, Mo. – The Thayer Bobcats went up against the Mountain Grove Panthers on Friday, October 23, 2020, for their homecoming game. The Bobcats won 43-14.

First Half

The Bobcats and Panthers kept it close in the first quarter at 7-7. [1] The Bobcats managed to get another touchdown and field goal before the half ended. The score at halftime was 14-7 with the Bobcats in the lead. [2]

Bobcats Win

The Panthers tried to get past the Bobcats and hold it, but they only got a touchdown and field goal. Thayer got two more touchdowns and lengthened the score 28-14. [3] The Bobcats, still not satisfied with a fourteen point lead, got another pair of touchdowns before the game ended. The final score was 43-14 [4] with the Bobcats taking the win.

Home-Field Advantage

Since the Bobcats won against the Panthers, they secured #1 seed in Class 1, District 1, district playoffs. [5] With the #1 seed, the Bobcats have home-field advantage. This win secured an SCA Title (pending approval from next Wednesday’s Coaches Meeting). [6]

Homecoming

Right before the game was the Thayer High School Homecoming parade and activities. The school also held senior recognition night before the game. [7]
