Jason Smith will be running for U.S. representative again in 2020.

Representative Jason Smith is working in his committee and through the House to advance assistance for those in need. Last week, his committee advanced legislation that will expand access to health care for seniors in rural and underserved areas. The bill includes provisions allowing pharmacists to receive Medicare reimbursement for treating common respiratory illnesses, expanding home health services for those with limited mobility, and many other needed changes and reforms. Then he worked on issues for our veterans, our schools, and our houses.

H.R. 6047 Veterans Benefits Expansion Act

This bill expands benefits for veterans and their survivors and establishes a new supplemental allowance for certain disabled veterans. Smith voted in favor of it, and it did pass.

H.R. 1041 Veterans Second Amendment Act

This bill protects the 2nd Amendment rights of veterans by ensuring bureaucrats can’t take veterans’ firearms away and instead ensures veterans receive due process. It did pass, and Smith voted in favor.

H.R. 2616 Stopping Indocrination And Protecting Kids Act

This bill protects children by requiring public schools to obtain parental consent before changing an elementary or middle school student’s gender marker, pronouns, or preferred name on school forms.  It did pass, and Smith voted in favor.

H.Res. 1299 21st Century ROAD To Hoising Act

This bill enacts several reforms that will expand the national housing supply and bring down the cost of buying a home.  Smith voted for this, and it did pass.
