Alton, Mo. – It was a big day in Oregon County, with many people coming out to vote for local candidates running for office. These are people we are in direct contact with, so we know how they do their work.
In case you wondered if your vote mattered, a couple of races were determined by less than 100 votes. Thank you to all who came out.
The general elections will be Tuesday, November 3, 2026.
State Auditor
Scott Fitzpatrick, the incumbent, won in Oregon County and statewide on the Republican ticket. He will face off against Quentin Wilson on the Democratic ticket and Dustin Coffell on the Libertarian ticket.
US Representative District 8
Incumbent Jason Smith won the Republican ticket. Chris Reichard took the Democratic nomination. Rebecca Lombard took the Libertarian nomination.
State Rep District 153
Incumbent Keith Elliott won the Republican party nomination, while Les Majors won the Democratic nomination; neither had opponents.
Associate Circuit Judge
Judge Harvey Allen won with 72% of the votes.
Presiding Commissioner
Incumbent David Stubblefield won with 51.4% of the votes. He won by only 60 votes; each vote matters.
Constitutional Amendment 1
It passed in Oregon County and statewide.
Constitutional Amendment 2
This amendment also passed in Oregon County and statewide.
Constitutional Amendment 4
This was overwhelmingly voted down in our county and statewide.
Constitutional Amendment 5
This, too, was overwhelmingly voted against here and statewide.
County Clerk
Babe Reese ran uncontested on the Republican side. Tracy Bridges ran uncontested on the Democratic side.
Clerk Of The Circuit Court
Crystal Howell won this.
Recorder of Deeds
Dawn Holman won.
County Treasurer
This was a very close race in the Republican Party. Nonetheless, LaJuana Hollis won with 44.2% of the votes, winning by only 111 votes.
Prosecuting Attorney
Justin Lee Kelley won uncontested.
Collector of Revenue
Donna Morrison won by 72 votes. This was Republican. Terri Williams ran in the Libertarian Party.
Tax
The countywide sales tax did not pass.
Oregon-Howell RII Propositions
Neither of the propositions passed. Although the C.A.R.E. one did not pass by only 174 votes.
