Marjorie Dannenfelser, president of SBA Pro-Life America, pointed to a memo from a House Democratic working group addressed to Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries. The document outlines goals for the first 100 days of the next Congress, including restoring a nationwide statutory right to abortion. “They’ve told us what they’re going to do,” Dannenfelser said.

Dannenfelser highlighted two specific measures named in the agenda. The first is the Women’s Health Protection Act, which she described as legislation that would create federal abortion rights and destroy state laws. “It should be called the Abortion on Demand Until Birth Act!” she said.
Pro-life critics of the bill say it would effectively permit abortions through all nine months of pregnancy while nullifying limits on late-term abortions and informed consent requirements, ignoring any harm that may come upon the mother at the expense of another baby in the womb being killed.
The second measure is the Equal Access to Abortion Coverage in Health (EACH) Act. This act aims to destroy the Hyde Amendment, forcing taxpayers to pay for abortions under Medicaid and other federal health programs. The working group memo lists ending such restrictions as a top priority.
