The price has gone up again this year by a dollar. For every 100 pounds hulled, you get $14.
Where to Pick
Black walnuts grow in abundance in Oregon County. Pick the walnuts in your yard, at a park, in a neighbor’s field (with their permission).
Protection While Picking
A lot of black walnut trees are in fields. To protect yourself, use insect repellent, long pants, and long sleeve shirts. Watch for snakes which may still be out. Don’t forget to stay hydrated while picking up walnuts. If you don’t want stains, wear gloves when picking up the black walnuts.
