Alton, Mo. – Twice a year, we think about cleaning up and out. Whether it is getting rid of winter things to bring in spring, or eliminating summer things in preparation for fall. As fall approaches, the city of Alton has announced its fall clean-up week dates. Here is what you need to know.
When Is It?
The dates for fall clean-up are October 5-9.
Who Is This For?
This is for all of the residents within the city limits of Alton.
What Can They Take?
They can haul away a variety of items. Some that are included are building materials without nails or screws. These are burnable materials, such as wood or drywall.
What Is Not Allowed
While they will take away many items, they cannot remove electronics or appliances. They cannot take building materials with nails or screws. Fixtures for construction, like sinks or toilets, they also cannot take. They cannot take any paint cans.
This is a great time to clear away summer clutter and make room for the space needed in the cooler months. Eliminate items broken or no longer used. This does not cost Alton citizens extra.
