2021 Walnut Festival And Run Is A Go- Alton Chamber of Commerce Meeting

Alton, Mo. – The Alton Area Chamber of Commerce met on Wednesday, August 25, 2021, at noon at Debbie Salling’s house. In the meeting, they said that the Walnut Festival and run are a go.

Walnut Festival

They discussed how many cases of walnuts they were going to get this year. They decided on seven cases. For the vendors at the Walnut Festival, they have almost seventy.

School Choirs

One of the topics discussed was letting the school choirs sing on stage. They said they would talk to Superintendent Eric Allen about it.

Ministerial Alliance

The chamber also said that the Ministerial Alliance wants to bring inflatable slides, popcorn, and snow cones to the festival.

Walnut Run

The Walnut Festival Run, which will be held on October 1st, is almost all set up. The run will start and end at the Alton school. The corn-hole tournament, which is also held the same night as the run, will be in the FEMA building.

Next Meeting

The next Chamber of Commerce meeting will be on the first Thursday of September at 5:30 pm at the Burger Palace. This meeting will be for the Walnut Festival. There will also be another Chamber meeting on the third Thursday of September at 5:30 pm. This second meeting will be the normal chamber meeting and they will elect officers.
