For those planning a trip towards Kansas City with youth, the Missouri Department of Conservation (MDC) is currently taking applications for their free, one-day Youth Camp. This one day camp is called Discover Nature Youth Camp.

Details About The Camp

This youth camp is to be held in Lee’s Summit, Missouri. It is only one day and space is limited. The event is aimed at youth ages 11 to 15. The camp date is June 20, 2020, from 8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m.  Prarie Hollow Lake at the Reed Area hosts this event. Transportation is the responsibility of the camper.

How To Apply

MDC will only accept sixteen girls and sixteen boys for this camp. They are accepted in the order the applications are received. Prior to attending the camp, attendees need to complete the first portion of the hunter education class. Then they need to submit the results to MDC before the class begins. What Activities Are There?

At this camp, attendees will learn outdoor skills like fishing and firearm safety, shooting, and water safety. This camp aims to give each participant the knowledge and confidence to enjoy the outdoors. What a great way to occupy your youth while you take care of other business.
