Despite Rainy Forecast, Locals Enjoyed Alton’s Christmas Parade

Alton, Mo. –On Saturday, December 2, 2023, Alton had their annual Christmas parade. Even though the weathermen were calling for rain at the starting time of the parade, the Alton Culture Club moved the starting time up and locals were able to enjoy the parade.

The Crowning

To start the evening off, the 2023 Little Mr. and Miss Merry Christmas was crowned. Candidates in the early elementary grades were each announced individually. Although all the candidates did a good job, Harper Wheeler and Tripp McIntire were the winners. [1]

Parade

There were all sorts of entrants in the parade going from horses to cars to tractors. Santa was also in the parade, riding in a golf cart. Different floats from churches and individuals also participated. There were a lot of ATV’s, four-wheelers, and dirt bikes in the parade as well.

Other Activities

After the parade, local businesses were selling hot cocoa and items that were on sale. The 4-H were set up with apple cider, popcorn, and hot dogs available. Mr. and Mrs. Santa Claus were at JoElla’s Beauty Collective after the parade to take pictures with the kids.
