Many Happenings At The Alton Senior Center

The Alton Senior Center

Alton, Mo. – The Alton Senior Center wants to thank everyone who contributed to giving a meal to seniors during the Thanksgiving season.  They want to encourage givers to continue this thought through the Christmas season. While doing that, everyone is welcome to come to their cookie exchange.

Thanksgiving

The senior center had a great time passing out meals to seniors during the Thanksgiving holiday season. Residents could purchase an already stocked bag of non-perishable items at Harps. Harps would then deliver these bags to the center to be distributed as needed. Altogether, they passed out approximately 70 meals. Thank you to all who participated!

Christmas

Christmas is the next major holiday. With heating and food costs on the rise, many of the elderly have trouble making ends meet. Until December 15, 2023, Harp’s Grocery will continue collecting non-perishable food items for the senior center. Pay for a bag (or two) or the cash register, and Harp’s takes care of the rest. And you can relax knowing you are helping someone in need.

Cookies!

We all like cookies! The Alton Senior Center is having a cookie swap this Wednesday, December 6, 2023. The public is invited! Bring your favorite cookie, and look forward to trying a new one.
