Line of trashcans.

The Missouri Department of Conservation (MDC) and the Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT) are putting on a contest for students from kindergarten to eighth grade. This contest promotes creative ways to throw away trash rather than leaving it for others to pick up or littering.

Enter a Contest

To get students engaged MoDOT and MDC are putting on a trashcan-decorating contest. Any public, private, or homeschool students located in the state of Missouri are invited to take part in the contest. Schools may submit one entry in each competition category. The competition categories are grades K-2, 3-5, and 6-8.

Annually MDC and MoDOT sponsor the “Yes You CAN Make Missouri Litter-Free” contest. It helps stop littering throughout the state while keeping young students engaged. All it takes to enter is decorating a trashcan and sending three pictures to No more trash. The submissions will be judged based on creativity, following the rules, and use of a theme.

Decorate a Trash Can

Decorate a 30-gallon, or more, the trash can that is located in a busy area of your school or community.

Use the Logo

Put the No MOre Trash! logo and a litter-prevention message on your trash can. You can find and download the logo at Nomoretrash.

Enter

Only entries submitted by schools in Missouri will be accepted- including homeschools. Send in your entrance form and three, clear, pictures. You must submit your entries before March 15th, 2019.
