While Monday, December 2, 2023, is National Cookie Day, we thought we would give you a heads-up so you can start on cookie making. While 82% of people prefer baking their own cookies, we have compiled a list of the top five cookies!

Chocolate Chip

Who can resist a chocolate chip cookie? Warm and soft, fresh from the oven. Is there any wonder fast food chains like Mcdonald’s sell this favorite? Butter, flour, and chocolate chips- what more!

Peanut Butter

Creamy or chunky peanut butter- it makes no difference. People like peanut butter cookies. A chocolate kiss is a nice addition but not necessary. After sugar and chocolate, a peanut butter cookie meets the cookie protein craving.

Snickerdoodle

Ahh, with a name like that, how can you help but try one? A smooth, buttery cookie topped with cinnamon and sugar. This is a Grandmother favorite. Pass the plate, please.

Oatmeal

Oatmeal is on the list of top-chosen cookies. Although some eaters prefer them with raisins, not all do. Some eat them for the health benefits. Most do not. Their texture is different from the ordinary cookie. Spices intermingle with oats, making this a winning combination to the palate.

Sugar Cookies

What kind of a list would omit sugar cookies? Light, airy cookie, complete with decorations and cut to perfection. Delicious even when not warm with a glass of milk.

That is the list of top cookies in America. Others are definitely in the top ten: Russian tea cakes, molasses, and jam thumbprints. It is the cookie season. May the list not stop. Try baking a batch for a neighbor this year.
