President Trump announced that American citizen and former U.S. Marine Robert Gilman is finally coming home after more than four years of imprisonment in Russia. He was detained in 2022 under the Biden administration for causing a disturbance and assaulting officers.
Trump announced.
“After my discussions with President Vladimir Putin, Russia has agreed to release him, very much on a Humanitarian Basis. We appreciate this decision, and the fact that Russia asked for no one in return — No exchange took place.”
Robert will land at Andrews Air Force Base in Washington, D.C., where representatives, some of whom are on the plane with him, will welcome Robert back to THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA!
Robert had one request — A GREAT cheeseburger! When he lands, the President will take care of that!
Robert is 32 years old and was a Massachusetts teacher and a Marine.
Recently, Gilman’s lawyer told the Russian news agency Interfax that Gilman was in a psychiatric ward of a civilian hospital, where he’s been since early July.
Although he was there “due to a psychiatric condition,” and according to doctors, his condition has worsened, neither his defense lawyers nor his family were allowed to visit, she said. Additionally, Gilman had been in “a dissociative stupor” for 47 days due to the abuse he had suffered in prison, according to Lebson. After Gilman was moved to the hospital, he was hooked up to a feeding tube and handcuffed to a bed.
Family and friends are thankful for his release.
