This year, 2026, is the United States’ 250th Anniversary. In honor of that, Gone for a Run is hosting a virtual 250 mile race challenge until the end of the year. Participants will receive a medal, a shirt, and a bib.

When Is It

The 250 mile challenge has been going on for a couple months and will continue until the new year.

Miles

The goal is to complete 250 miles. The miles can be done any way: walking, running, hiking, swimming, biking, or any other way. You can go at your own pace in any of the sports. This is a virtual race which means you can do it anywhere and at anytime.

Medal

Once you sign up, you will get a bib, a shirt, and a medal. There is a standard t-shirt as well as a women’s everyday tank. The medal also includes milestone tokens for 50, 100, 150, 200, and 250 miles.

Register

To participate in the race, you can register here. The cost ranges between $39.99 and $47.99. [1]

Proceeds

The proceeds from the race goes to the Veterans’ Outreach which is a non-profit that serves and honors all veterans. [2]

Who Can Do It

Anyone, no matter the age, can complete this challenge. It will require a lot of dedication, but if you’re looking for something to do, this is something to do!
