Jason Smith, the U.S. representative for District 8, was busy with bills coming up for votes. As the representative for our area, it is important to keep abreast of his views and voting record.


This bill rescinds the funding made available to the IRS through the so-called Inflation Reduction Act that will be used to target working-class Americans through increased audits and additional enforcement agents. Representative Smith voted Yes. The bill passed.


This bill is the Born Alive bill. If a child is born alive after surviving an abortion, this bill requires any healthcare practitioner present to provide the same degree of care any other child of the same gestational age would receive. The survivor must then be immediately transported to a hospital. Representative Smith voted Yes. Bill passed.

H.Con. Res. 3

This condemns the violence and destruction committed against pro-life facilities in the aftermath of the Dobbs v. Jackson decision. Representative Smith voted Yes. Resolution passed.
