Rep Jason Smith Casts Votes Before Thanksgiving

As the government shutdown ended, Congress went to work passing legislation on a variety of items. Here is what Representative Jason Smith has done.

H.R. 4405 Epstein Files Transparency Act

This act requires the AG to release all DOJ documents and records related to Jeffrey Epstein. It did pass, and Smith voted yes.

H.R. 2659 Strengthen Cyber Resilience Act

This act establishes an interagency task force and requires a comprehensive report to Congress on the targeting of U.S. critical infrastructure by the People’s Republic of China (PRC) state-sponsored cyber actors. Smith voted in favor of it, and it did pass.

H.J. Res 131 Coastal Plain CRA

This nullifies a Biden BLM rule that restricts oil and gas leasing in the Coastal Plain of the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge (ANWR) in northeast Alaska. Smith voted in favor, and it did pass.

S.J. Res 80 National Petroleum Reserve In Alaska

This also nullifies a rule issued by the Biden Bureau of Land Management (BLM) that locked up nearly 12 million acres of energy resources on Alaska’s North Slope. It did pass, and Smith voted in favor of it.
