Alton, Mo. – The Alton Missouri public school has closed due to the coronavirus. The school let out early last week. Missouri’s state governor, Mike Parson, issued an order that all schools be closed on March 21, 2020.

Events Canceled From COVID-19

All the Alton Comets baseball and track games are canceled and all the other school activities are canceled as well for the Alton school. The Alton R-IV said on their Facebook page that if anything changes, they will let you know. Prom was scheduled for April 11, 2020, and is currently postponed. The length of the quarantine is unknown so the set date is uncertain. Prom and other school activities will resume when the classes start again.

Starting School Again

School is set to begin again April 6th but that just depends on if the coronavirus goes away quickly and if COVID-19 stays for a while then a new date will be set or the date will just be unknown.
