Where is an interesting place you visited? Colorado? Hawaii? Bahamas? Europe? How about the moon? I am sure not too many people have taken a vacation to the moon. Nonetheless, a company is taking reservations for those who want to stay in a lunar hotel.

Who Is This?

A new business called Galactic Resource Utilization Space (GRU Space) is now accepting $250,000 deposits from people who want to reserve a stay at what it calls the world’s first lunar hotel, once the hotel is built, of course.

The company’s vision is for a small habitat orbiting the Moon, offering guests sweeping views of Earth, gentle artificial gravity generated by rotation, and a handful of carefully designed suites that feel more boutique than bunker.

If you are thinking about it but unsure, they sell souvenirs for a price.

How Long Is The Stay?

The stay would last just a few days. Getting there would be the actual journey. Guests would launch aboard a commercial spacecraft, dock with the orbiting hotel, and spend their time floating, gazing out oversized windows, and watching Earth rise and set across the lunar horizon.

Cost

While the cost is a deterrent to many, the idea of staying somewhere few people have been lures travellers. A $1000 non-refundable deposit on the GRU website will claim your initial spot, while a $250,000 to $1,000,000 deposit will officially reserve your space to be one of the first to vacation on the moon’s surface.

Do not delay. There will be a limited number of rooms available. And be sure to bring a camera!
