Alton, Mo. – Alton, Missouri’s, annual Christmas parade is set for Saturday, December 6, 2025. The afternoon and evening will be filled with festive activities to welcome Christmas.
Crowning
The Little Mr. and Miss Merry Christmas crowing will be at 4:00 pm. Contestants from every grade will be dressed in their royal clothes, waiting to see who will be crowned.
Parade
The actual parade will begin at 6:00 pm, starting at the school. The parade lineup begins at 5:00 pm. The parade will go down Market Street around Wright’s Station and back past the courthouse. It will then go past the Senior Center and Post Office, then turn back up to the school. The theme this year is Christmas In Our Town.
There are several parade categories with prize money: best themed, decorated, and lighted… Other categories include Non-Religious, Religious, boat, tractor, ATV, and Horses. Classic Vehicles and semis are welcome!
ALL entries MUST be decorated.
Vendors
This year, vendors will line the parade route. Be sure to take advantage of seasonal sales! They will be there between 4-7 pm.
Photos
You can take photos with Mr. and Mrs Santa after the parade. There will be a Santa contest after the crowning of Mr/Miss Merry Christmas.
Afterwards
After the parade, local businesses will stay open a little longer for Christmas shopping and eating. Individuals and families can also take pictures with Santa and Mrs. Claus at Jason’s Mexican Restaurant.
