Alton, Mo. – The Alton Church of Christ held a community shower on Saturday, June 6. They took donations from community members as well as donated to anyone who was in need. Altogether, they helped 20 families! Praise God! The rain held off, and the people came.
Where?

The community potluck was held at the parking lot of the Alton Church of Christ. One could see the canopies from P Highway or US 160.
Donations

The Church of Christ had been asking for donations of non-perishable items for those in need. Some of the items donated were school supplies, clothes, towels and blankets, hygiene items, diapers, and books. Several tables full of items for donation were set up in their parking lot. They passed out pre-stuffed bags of hygiene items, complete with a Bible!
Helped
The church and the community that donated helped 20 families in this event. These people do not need to purchase detergent, shampoo, or diapers this month. That’s a large savings.

The Alton Church of Christ was showing what the hands and feet of Christ look like by helping those in need without further questions. They handed out free items without checking whether a person lived in Alton or what their tax situation was. They charged no money for anything, and one did not need to be a member of a church to attend.
