The Missouri Department of Conservation (MDC) is asking hunters in Missouri to save the feathers from the turkeys that are harvested this fall. The MDC is doing a research project to help improve turkey management throughout Missouri.

How Does This Work?

The MDC will send participating hunters the materials needed to submit the feathers. This includes a postage-paid envelope for feather admissions. The packaging materials come with instructions about which feathers to submit. MDC is asking hunters to submit the feathers in the postage-paid envelope. Participating hunters also need to include the telecheck number for the harvested bird. This helps MDC determine from which county the bird was taken.

Anything Else?

The MDC asks that the hunter keep the carcass of the bird until the materials and instructions from MDC arrive.
