Alton, Mo. – Anyone going through town can see new construction going up. One of those structures is a new fire station. Back in August of this year, AltonMo.com had spoken with Alton City Hall and got some details. On Thursday, October 17, 2019 AltonMo.com spoke with Amy at the city hall. They are hoping to have the fire station completed by the week before Thanksgiving. Additional questions, as well as answers, can be directed to the city hall, although much is up in the air until the final project is in sight.
Looking Good so Far
Residents have been waiting for a while for this building, actually four years of waiting. But the construction workers laid the foundation and put the walls up. Red, just like a fire station, should be.
Where Is This Station?
Located next to Harps Grocery store on highway 160 west on the north side of the road is a large red metal building. This is next to the Quick Connection gas station and across the street from the Alton Auto Store.
