Ozark Medical Center from West Plains, Missouri, is offering free heart risk screenings throughout February. As February is considered American Heart Month, Ozarks Medical Center (OMC) is offering several free educational events and screenings.

How Bad Is Heart Disease?

“According to the Centers for Disease Control and Protection, heart disease is the leading cause of death for both men and women. One in every four deaths in the United States is the result of heart disease.” [1]

What Is Included In This Check?

Coming into Alton, Missouri, OMC will be performing free heart risk screening checks. This free heart screening includes a lipid panel, glucose, A1C, and blood pressure check at the Alton Clinic. Additional lab costs are available for a fee. The Alton Clinic is located at 100 Medical Drive in Alton. The phone number for appointments or questions is 417-778-7227.

Other local clinics holding these screenings include Gainesville, Mountain Grove, Mountain View, West Plains, Thayer, Willow Springs, and Winona. The clinics ask that you make an appointment ahead of time. These checks will be ongoing from February 24-28, 2020. Although West Plains held another free screening on February 7, 2020, OMC Heart Care Services specializes in heart care.
