There are many places and settings where you can take a hike. You can take a hike in a forest, the woodlands, grasslands, or a park trail. You can visit national parks and follow their trails. You can take your hike on roads inaccessible to vehicles or you can take a dirt road. Mills are also a great place to take a hike too. You don’t even have to walk; you can run or bike. Your pet can even accompany you on your trip. The trail you go on can be rocky, steep, hilly, flat, or paved walkways.

Tips While Hiking

Here are some tips for while you’re hiking.

  1. Take along a lot of water and drink continually.
  2. Bring some bug repellent along to keep away the pests like ticks and mosquitoes.
  3. Sunscreen or a hat always helps keep you from getting sunburned.
  4. Even though it’s summer, you may consider wearing pants and long sleeves to keep the bugs from biting you.
  5. Wear some comfortable tennis shoes or hiking boots.
  6. Wear a good pair of socks so you don’t get blisters.
  7. Bring a hiking stick. These really help if you’re climbing a rocky or steep terrain.
