The Alton, Missouri, Public Library is once again having the Happy McReaders program sponsored by McDonald’s. This program serves as an incentive for kids to read more books throughout the summer.

Participants

This is for anyone who is 17 years old or younger. [1] Whether you’re an avid reader or want to work on your reading, this is the perfect incentive to read throughout the summer.

How It Works

If you want to participate in the Happy McReaders program, ask the Alton librarian for a punch card. Every time you check out and read a book, the librarian will punch the card. For every 10 punches, you can bring the punch card to a local McDonald’s and receive a free Happy Meal. After you have filled out one punch card, you can get another and continue all summer long.

Length of the Program

The Happy McReaders program began on June 8, 2026, and will continue until August 31, 2026. [2]
