After a lengthy closure due to the pandemic, thrift stores in West Plains and Thayer are reopening. The OMC stores are ready for customers with minor adjustments. With a change in season and finances tight, many people are looking to resale stores to compliment their wardrobes. Thrift stores carry clothing along with household goods and furniture, books, and jewelry, at reasonable prices.

West Plains

In West Plains, Missouri, the OMC (Ozark Medical Center) thrift store is open for donations as well as shopping. Shortly before the pandemic closures, the store had moved its facility to 1807 Porter Waggoner Blvd. It’s still there, and it is open Monday through Saturdays from 9:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. They offer sales on Tuesdays. Any questions can be directed to their phone number at 417-257-5915 or to their Facebook page.

Thayer

This store is located at 612 South 6th Street in Thayer, Missouri. It is open from 9:00 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. Mondays through Saturdays. Thursday is the sale day. Their phone number for questions is 417-264-2028. The employees will wear face masks and gloves for a few weeks for protection of themselves as well as their customers.

What Adjustments?

West Plains will limit its facility to 30 people at any time. Thayer is limiting the number of patrons in the store as well. Lines are marked out on the floor for six feet social distancing around the stores, especially at the cash registers and donation doors. Customers will leave their carts with an employee who will clean the cart before allowing another customer to use it.

Thrift stores reopening are a great sign of the economy opening up and life returning to normal.
