Alton, Mo. – The Alton Comets cheerleader tryouts/camp are set for Saturday, August 29, 2020, at the FEMA building on the Alton High School campus from 10:00 am to 3:30 pm.

A Cheerleader?

You may be wondering, what is a cheerleader? A cheerleader is one of the school’s most effective, visible, and powerful student leaders and the person who makes things happen! [1]

When And Where

The tryouts will be held at the FEMA building at the Alton high school. The FEMA building doors will open at 9:00 am and tryouts will begin at 10:00 am. Being on time is important. After the tryouts, their will be a camp starting at 2:30 pm and lasting until 3:30 pm.

Who Can Tryout

Students from grades 6th through 12th grade of the Alton Comets can tryout for being a cheerleader.

What to Bring

Students are to bring a pack lunch/snack and drinks. Wannabe cheerleaders are encouraged to wear comfortable clothes that you can be active and show what you have and tennis shoes.

Pre-Participation Physical

All the scholars that want to attend tryouts/camp are required to take a pre-participation physical before August 29. Alton Medical Clinic continues to offer free physicals. Southern Community Health Center in Thayer is also available. When you go to tryouts bring your completed form unless you turned it in earlier. You can print out the physical form here.

Students are asked to stay on campus and in the FEMA building during the duration of tryouts/camp.
