Alton, Mo. – There’s nothing like having a wet nose waking you up, a cute face staring at your adoringly, and a loyal heart that will protect you from anything, even squirrels. Dogs are man’s best friend. So give your dog one of the best days of their lives on National Dog Day on Wednesday, August 26, 2020.

Snuggle

Something you and your dog can always go for is snuggle. Sit on the couch or on the bed and just snuggle together.

Go for a Walk/Run

A dog always loves to go for a walk or run on a trail, on the sidewalk, or in a park. [1]

Go Swimming

If you have a river, creek, lake, or pond near you, take your loyal friend and go swimming. If you don’t feel like swimming, bring a ball, stick, or frisbee and throw it into the water for your dog to fetch.

A New Trick

It doesn’t matter what age your dog is, whether your dog is old or young teach them a new trick. You can teach them to shake or jump or any other trick.

Tug-of-War

A dog loves tug-of-war. Grab that rope toy and have a good game of tug-of-war.

Agility Course

Your loveable companion loves agility. Create an agility course for your pup. It can be small or it can be large, your dog will still like it either way. If this is new to your dog have treats on hand to encourage them.

Hide And Seek

To get those doggy senses going, you can play hide and seek. You can hide a treat, toy, or yourself around the house or outside and then have your dog find the treats, toys, or you. You may not think so, but this is a great way to tire out your dog.

Fetch

The last activity to do with your adorable dog is to play fetch. There’s nothing, fo a dog, like jumping up in the air to catch that frisbee or running after the ball and then come racing back to the owner.

Your dog will always be there for you and will always be begging for pets and food.
