Alton, Missouri, Gets Big Ice/Snowstorm- Get Out And Have Fun!

Alton, Mo. – Alton, Missouri, had a big ice/snowstorm on Wednesday and Thursday, February 2 and 3, 2022. The result of the winter storm was about four inches of snow with a layering of ice underneath.

The Ice Part

It started out as rain on the evening of Tuesday, February 1, 2022. On Wednesday, it was still raining, but slowly it turned to freezing rain, sleet, and then sleet mixed with snow.

Downfall Of Snow

It didn’t start snowing until early Thursday morning. It snowed all day, at times it snowed heavily. By the end of the day, about four inches of snow had stacked up all around. In some places, there was about six inches of snow, while in other places, there was about 3 inches.

Stay Safe And Have Fun

While we all love snow and sledding, we have to keep in mind to stay safe- not driving unless absolutely necessary. But, that being said, everyone loves a good snow day! So get out with family and friends and build snow forts, snowmen, have a snowball fight, and go sledding!
