Thayer, Mo. –The Thayer Bobcats football team went up against the Willow Springs Bears on October 17, 2025, at Louis Bozman Field. The Bobcats kept their undefeated record with a 69-0 win.

Thayer immediately got on the board with a touchdown from Thomas Poole (#8 for Thayer) on the second play of the game. Although that play was null due to a penalty, Riley White (#9 for Thayer) caught a pass and ran into the endzone. Dawson Harris (#7 for Thayer) ran into the endzone for the two-point conversion. With 7:50 left in the first quarter, Heath Combs (#2 for Thayer) got his first touchdown of the night, with Xavier Gonzales going in for the two-point conversion.

Continued Scoring
Just over a minute later, Cordell Washington (#1 for Thayer) ran around sixty yards to the endzone, dodging defenders as he went. Dominick Boyce (#24 for Thayer) ran in for the two-point conversion. When Willow Springs got the ball back, on a pass, Riley White intercepted the ball and returned it for a touchdown. Harris went in for the two-point conversion. The score at this point was 32-0. Closing out the quarter, Poole and Boyce each got a touchdown, making the score 48-0 at the end of the first quarter.

69-0 Lead
Boyce got his second touchdown of the night at the beginning of the second quarter. Willow Springs continued to struggle to convert any throws or runs, with al ltheir drives ending in punts. With 6:53 in the half, Poole made the score 62-0 with another touchdown. The final score of the night came from Rowan Johnson (#11 for Thayer) when he broke away from the defense and ran over fifty yards into the endzone. At that point, Thayer started to put in more second string players in. The score at halftime was 69-0.

Halftime
At halftime, the Thayer Pride Marching Band played multiple songs with the flag girls doing their routines. After the band performed, the Thayer Mighty Mites football players and cheerleaders were acknowledged by lining up on the field.

Second String
In the second half, Thayer’s second string players took the field, still holding Willow Springs to no points. The turbo clock also started in the second half and remained going for the rest of the game. On one of the last plays of the game, John Baugh (#2 for Willow Springs) made a nice interception, giving Willow Springs the ball back. The final score was 69-0, with Thayer maintaining their undefeated season.
