Alton, Mo. – Alton is officially scheduled to host a community potluck. Local churches and residents are currently meeting to discuss which food items and donations to bring to the event.
The gathering is part of a larger movement called America’s Potluck. Every state in the country has announced at least one community meal to bring neighbors together in a shared setting. And we are a part of it!
Organizers say the event aims to use food and music to connect people across the community. It is designed to be a way for people from all walks of life to celebrate and look toward the future together.
Legal Approvals
Organizers have secured all necessary legal approvals for the upcoming event. This includes full support from both city and county authorities.
Emergency personnel are also supporting the venue. Their involvement ensures the safety of all community members who attend the celebration.
Participation and Donations
Community members are encouraged to bring their favorite dishes to share with others. Tableware and drinks will be provided at the site for all guests.
The Alton Assembly of God has opened a room dedicated to storing donations for the event. Residents are asked to consider donating soda or tea when it is on sale to help supply the meal. All donations can be dropped off at the church. They are also accepting financial donations to purchase items not donated. All financial donations can be made payable to the Alton Assembly of God Church, with “potluck” in the memo line.
