Alton, Mo. – July 4th is coming up soon and every 4th of July needs some fun activities. Here are some family actvities to do.

Picnic

A nice activity you can do alone, with a friend, or family is to have a picnic. You can have a picnic in the backyard or at a park.

Canoe/Rafting/Kayaking

There’s nothing quite like canoeing, kayaking, or rafting down a river. Float down a river with family and friends.

Swimming

A way to cool down a hot 4th of July is by swimming. Go to your pool, creek, or river and take a dive in.

Sparklers

Sparklers is a fun way to celebrate our nation’s birth. You can take pictures with the sparklers.

Paint

Get some paper and paints and paint. Paint the American flag, your state, fireworks, patriotic things, or anything else you can think of. You can paint on a canvas or a pot.

Camp

Hit a fireworks show then camp outside. You can camp on the lakeside, mountain, forest, or backyard.

Patriotic Movie

Sit down with the family and watch a patriotic movie. Have popcorn and other treats with the movie too.

Play Sports

OK, I said 7 surprisingly simple summertime activites, but this is so much fun, I’ll add another! Play some sports with family and friends. Play some football, basketball, soccer, or frisbee. If you have enough people, make teams and have a game.
