Alton, Mo. –The Alton Culture Club held its Miss Oregon County Patriotic Pageant on June 20, 2026, in Alton, Missouri, in honor of the United States’ 250th Anniversary. Eight girls were chosen as first- and second- place winners for four categories.

Miss Firecracker
The youngest group of girls, ages 5-7, competed for the Miss Firecracker title. Twelve girls went up on stage and answered some questions. Emmy Bliss Baker from Thayer was crowned Miss Firecracker.

Miss Sparkler
Girls ages 8-11 competed for the Miss Sparkler title. Although only four girls entered, they each answered their questions very well. Belle Baker won the title of Miss Sparkler.

Miss Liberty Bell
Six girls ages 12-15 competed for the title of Miss Liberty Bell. Each girl brought composure to the stage with their questions and speeches. Michalina Basham took home the Miss Liberty Bell title.

Miss Oregon County
The title of Miss Oregon County (for girls ages 16-18) was highly contested since only two of the three girls who signed up were able to participate in the pageant. Both Miley Johnston and Macie Anderson brought maturity to the competition. Although both did well, Macie Anderson brought home the Miss Oregon County crown and title.

The Pageant
The Miss Oregon County Patriotic Pageant was not a beauty pageant, but instead was a personality and character pageant. The girls wore simple outfits with minimal make-up: this type of pageant made it affordable for any and all girls.

A Huge Success
The pageant was a huge success, with over fifty people showing up to support the young ladies. A majority of the attendees were either related to or friends with the girls participating in the pageant. It was a very family-oriented event.

What Next?
All the pageant winners will be around all year going to different events including local Independence Day festivities, Christmas parades, and fall festivals.
