Occasionally, the BB Road Fire Department holds a barbecue fundraiser at 4 through 7 PM to benefit the BB road volunteer firefighters. Put on by various people; it’s an easy way to help your community while having fun.
The BB Road Fire Department dinner was held at the community center located ten miles from Alton on east U.S. 160 at the intersection of County Road 225 and County Road 222.
What and why?
The center provided platters of barbecue pulled pork. Similarly, for those with a larger appetite, multiple side dishes were on hand in addition to a beverage bar. For those with a sweet tooth, a vast array of desserts was available for all interested. The fundraiser helped to provide for the local firefighters while at the same time allowed friends and family to have fun while eating good food.
Finally, donations for adults and children over the age of twelve was eight dollars. Children twelve and under were four dollars. Preschoolers and babies were free. Takeouts were available upon request. Containers were provided at the check-in allowing freedom to eat inside or take the food home with them.
The property offered plenty of parking outside of the community center with a front yard full of green grass for the children to play in. The center had plenty of tables for seating. It was a great opportunity to get together with fellow Missourians and enjoy the hot food.
