Alton, Mo. – On July 3, 2019, Alton, Missouri will once again celebrate our country’s independence.  Weather permitting Alton has always celebrated our nation’s birthday by a display of fireworks. This year hopes to be no different.

What Time For Games

On July 3, 2019, Piney Creek Park will open for entertainment and celebrating. At 6:00 p.m. the park opens for games set up for the children including a bounce house and slides. Armbands are sold for $10.00 each for the rides. Many residents show up at this time to reserve seats and converse with their neighbors.

Where is the park

Piney Creek Park is located outside the city of Alton, Missouri. Heading east on Highway 160 just a few miles, the park will be on the south side of the road. It is difficult to pass by the park because crowds are expected, and local law enforcement officers direct traffic. The park has ample parking in the lower area close to the festivities along with parking on higher ground in case of wet ground.

Weather Schedule

Weather permitting, fireworks begin at dusk, usually after the playing of the national anthem. Last year had inclement weather which cut short the live band performance. Some of the sound systems prevented those attending from hearing the song. Currently, a passing shower is forecast for the day.
