Alton, Mo. – On Monday, February 9, 2026, the Alton city council met. A few new topics were listed for the night.
Community Input
First, they addressed the needs of the community members present. They discussed property rights and the rights of property owners adjacent to abandoned land. They discussed the right-of-easement on Water Street leading to Shepherd’s View, who would maintain the roadway, and whether it would remain open to all.
The Alton Bank has a new loan officer who wants to use his talents to help the community.
There were no water, sewer, or police reports.
Applications
The city mentioned they are now accepting applications for lifeguards and pool managers. They will also be planning the fireworks celebration on Friday, July 3, 2026.
