Primary elections are happening tomorrow, Tuesday, August 4, 2026. To be prepared before you go to vote, here’s the sample ballot, along with various town halls and meetings.
Ballot
Voters will be voting for various offices including our state representative, state auditor, and U.S. Representative. County offices will also be voted on including county clerk, clerk of the circuit court, recorder of deeds, county treasurer, collector of revenue, prosecuting attorney, presiding commissioner, and associate circuit judge.
Four constitutional amendments will also be on the ballot tomorrow, along with measures concerning a full-time prosecutor and a county-wide sales tax. You can read the sample ballot here (Republican, Democrat, and Libertarian ballots are included): August 4, 2026 Sample Ballots.
Town Halls
Two town halls have been held: one in April and one in July. Keep in mind for the April town hall, the only candidates to consider are the ones running for county offices: everyone else, along with the propositions, were voted on in the local elections in April.
A second town hall meeting was held at the end of July. At the town hall, present state and county candidates were given an opportunity to speak. Each of the proposed Constitutional amendments were also discussed. You can read about it and watch the town hall here.
Meet & Greet
The Oregon County Republicans had a meet and greet back in June. State and county office candidates were able to give a little speech and answer questions from the attendees. You can read about the meeting, as well as watch it, here.
