Have you taken a shower lately that was longer than expected? While trying to maneuver the light spray while washing off soap and shampoo, one spends extra time in frustration trying to be clean. Things are about to change.
Previously
Under the previous administration, Americans were treated like children, unable to decide for themselves what was best. Simple things like how much water to put in a toilet or shower were agreed on by the government. But under the Trump administration, he is giving the decision-making back to the people. If you want a blasting shower, that is permissable. If you want a light spray, that is your choice.
Now
On April 9, 2025, Trump signed an executive order reversing the ” low-flow shower head” energy regulations that date back to the Obama- Biden years. This order would eliminate restrictions the Obama administration had placed on how much water can flow from shower heads, to conserve resources. Trump relaxed those standards during his first term, but President Biden put them back in place.
This is termed the ‘Beautiful Hair’ order, as people can rinse their hair thoroughly. This order also applies to sinks and dishwashers. Trump remarked that the restrictions during Obama’s and Biden’s presidencies were needlessly restrictive for consumers and manufacturers.
According to the order,
No market failure justifies this intrusion: Americans pay for their own water and should be free to choose their shower heads without federal meddling [1],
