Washington, D.C. – Millions of people from all across the country traveled to the United States Capitol in Washington, D.C., for The Wild Protest Rally held on Wednesday, January 6, 2021.
The Ellipse
The rally started off at The Ellipse, which is right in front of the White House. People gathered in The Ellipse and around the Washington Monument for the rally. President Donald Trump spoke around noon Eastern Time. The people were waving flags and shouting in unison stuff like, “U.S.A.”
Speakers
Multiple speakers came out and talked to the crowd at The Ellipse. Some of the speakers were former mayor of New York, Rudy Giuliani, President Donald Trump, and the president’s son Donald Trump Jr., among others.
The March
After President Trump spoke, people started moving out of The Ellipse and heading towards Capitol Hill along Constitution Avenue. The President went along Pennsylvania Avenue towards Capitol Hill as well.
Capitol Hill
People were coming from three different streets towards the Capitol waving their flags as they went. Some people went to the southeast side of the Capitol while others stayed on the northwest side. Unidentified people went up the Capitol steps waving their flags and walking around the balcony.
Interesting perspective, but you left out the bit about insurrectionists ambushing the nation’s capitol.
A woman was fatally shot as she tried to force her way into a secured area. A Capitol police officer was beaten to death with a fire extinguisher. Four others have died, and at least 50 officers were injured.
Pipe bombs with timing devices were found at the DNC and the RNC. Police found a truck full of Molotov cocktails and firearms. Someone erected a gallows outside the Capitol, while crowds yelled “hang Mike Pence”. Rioters carried guns, tasers & flex-cuffs.
All for a lie. There was never any sort of legal path for Trump to remain in office. There was no evidence of widespread voter fraud. Trump, Hawley, Cruz, Giuliani and others flat-out lied, knowing full well what the reaction would be. And while the rioters are all adults who will be held accountable, they are still victims (to a degree) of psychological warfare. It’s sad to see so many American citizens radicalized by propaganda. And even more shocking is that apparently many of these people are so disconnected from reality, they think they’ve done nothing wrong.
Pro tip for domestic terrorists: If you plan to blame “Antifa” after the fact, it’s probably best to not take selfies or livestream when committing crimes, or leave a social media trail a mile long.
